Welcome to the 80 th annual adjudicated music festival in Brantford and Brant County!
Brant Music Festival is one of the oldest continuous annual adjudicated music festivals in Ontario. BMF can trace its origins back to the Brant County Musical Festival, a non-adjudicated festival that began in 1936. This annual music festival changed to an adjudicated festival in 1945 when the Kiwanis Club of Brantford established the Brantford Kiwanis Music Festival. This long-standing annual event was discontinued at the close of the 2017 festival. To keep the festival alive, a dedicated group of local music teachers and community volunteers formed the Brant Music Festival in 2018.
The Brant Music Festival is a non-profit, charitable organization. Each year the festival is guided by a nine person Board of Directors. Board members volunteer their time to select adjudicators, set up venues, engage volunteers, and raise funds. We are grateful for the support of BMF donors, sponsors, volunteers, music teachers, and festival participants and their families.
This year’s festival will offer classes for Strings, Piano, Classical Voice, Musical Theatre, Songs for Stage and More, Brass and Woodwinds, Choir and Bands, and English Speech Arts.
We look forward to seeing all of this year’s participants in April!
Sincerely,
Laura DeVries, Chairperson
Brant Music Festival Board
The mission of the Brant Music Festival is to promote engagement, education, and excellence in music and the performance arts through an annual adjudicated festival. We strive to develop well-rounded individuals who will give their gifts back to the community, ensuring that the arts will flourish.
